Aspire Academy students are enjoying the gift of reading thanks to Books for STL Kids. At Books for STL Kids' recent holiday breakfast, the organization donated additional books to students, handpicked by Aspire Librarian Ms. Wadlington. Among the new additions were age-appropriate picture books like Lola Gets a Cat and Better Together, Cinderella: A Big Sister Fairy Tale.
This holiday donation is part of an ongoing partnership between Aspire and Books for STL Kids. Earlier in 2024, Aspire received two grants from the organization, receiving more than 400 brand-new books. In the spring, each student took home three books as part of this initiative. In September, Aspire participated in the Largest Book Fair in St. Louis, hosted by Books for STL Kids at the James Egan Community Center in Florissant, Missouri.
At the December 6th holiday party for grant recipients, Aspire received even more books, which are now being used as incentives during library time. Students “earn” the books through giveaways, making reading an exciting reward.
Aspire Academy is grateful for this partnership with Books for STL Kids, which continues to foster a love of reading and provide students with access to new, engaging books.
