Aspire Academy and HOME WORKS! are partnering again to engage families in their student’s education. Aspire and HOME WORKS! kicked off the 2023-2024 school year with a family dinner. Parents, teachers, and students shared a meal, built stronger connections aligned with student success, and signed up for HOME WORKS! Home Visits to be done throughout the school year.
In November, HOME WORKS! and Aspire teamed up for a Parent-Teacher Workshop. Those who attended were able to take part in Aspire's first-ever "Sneaker Ball." Everyone looked amazing, as well as comfy, in their sneakers and had a fabulous time.
Research shows family engagement in education sets children up for success in school and life. HOME WORKS! trains and supports teachers’ home visits so they can better connect with students and their families, facilitates parent-teacher workshops that empower the entire family, and works with teachers and schools to implement parent engagement strategies.
The goals of the HOME WORKS! program are to improve parent-teacher relationships, students’ classroom behavior and engagement, school attendance, and students’ reading and math proficiency.
